Ballroom Dance Party will be held twice a month, from 7 to 9 p.m.  Come alone or with a partner.  Register at the Welcome Center for only $10 for all participants.

Preschool Registration: Preschool education builds knowledge, character development, guidance and encouragement while helping youth realize and develop their full potential.  Register for the longest running preschool program in Portage.  Portage Township YMCA preschool registration began on March 1 for the public.  Open registration is available with a $25 non-refundable registration fee to hold your spot.  So stop by the Y and see what we have to offer.

T-Ball/Baseball: T-Ball for ages 3-5 and baseball for ages 6-8 will begin on June 4.  Practices will be held one night a week with games on Saturdays.  All games and practices will be held at Real Life Community Church.

British Soccer Camp will run June 25-29 at the Portage Soccer Complex.  The Y and the Portage Parks Dept. will host this #1 Soccer Camp in the US and Canada.  Challenger British Soccer Camp!

College Membership Special: Beginning May 14, all full-time college students with schedule or current college ID will receive a single Primary Plus membership for $31 a month with no joiner fee.  Membership must be purchased by July 31. 

Summer Membership Special: Beginning June 1, purchase 4 weeks for $40, 6 weeks for $60, 8 weeks for $80, 10 weeks for $100 or 12 weeks for $120 with no joiner fee.  All purchases must be made by July 31. 

Physicals: The Y in partnership with St. Mary Medical Center will be offering school physicals for only $20. June 2:  9 a.m. noon at the YMCA; June 12:   5 to 8 p.m. Portage IMAX; June 30:   9 a.m. to noon at the YMCA;  July 26:   5 to 8 p.m. at the Portage High School West;  and July 28:  8 to 11 a.m. at the Portage High School West.

No Bummer Summer Camp: Begins June 11.  Camp runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with extended care from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.  Weekly field trips, daily swimming as well as hot lunches will be provided.  Experience laughter, leadership and lifelong memories at summer camp.  Weekly and daily rates available.  CCDF Vouchers Accepted.

Running Club: Run, train and make new friends.  Wednesdays from 6 to 7 p.m. and Thursdays from 6 to 7 a.m.  Amateur runners meet in the lobby of the YMCA and dress for the weather.  All one hour runs will be outside unless it is lightening.  Participants will be running 3-5 miles with calisthenics and stretching.  Must be aged 14 and up to participate.

Swim Lessons:  Get ready to swim! At the Y, we believe the ability to swim is a critical life skill for every child and teen. In swim lessons, we use a variety of fun methods to help kids overcome fears, build confidence in the water and develop skills that last a lifetime. Qualified instructors meet kids at their own level, help families set achievable goals and celebrate all successes. By educating and partnering with parents, we’re determined to prevent drowning in our community.

Summer Mini-Camps:  June 11-29

• Kids in the Kitchen:  Wednesdays, 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. for ages 4-8. Learn how to make your favorite healthy snacks as well as the best part…..eating them!
• Kids Fit and Fun:  Wednesdays, 10:15 to 11:15 a.m. for ages 3-6. Get moving with interactive games and hands on activities while learning fun facts about healthy lifestyles
• How Does Your Garden Grow:   Mondays, 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Held inside and outdoors.  Teaching children the responsibility of taking care of plants and learning about the importance they provide to us

Bring Your Own Bike: Bike the Rails to Trails with the enthusiastic YMCA members, starting June 11 on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8 to 9 a.m.  This program is free and offered to members.

Zumbatomic: Starting June 11. Kids Zumba (Zumbatomic) will be held at 11:15 a.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays for ages 5-14.  The monthly class fees are free for primary plus members, $30 for primary and $60 for others.

Cheer Camp: Cheer camp will be held in two sessions this summer.  June 26, 27, 28 and July 24, 25, 26.  Must be registered for June camp by June 22, must be registered for July camp by July 20.  Camp times will be from 4:30 to 7 for age 4-12.  Each camp fee will be $35 for primary plus, $50 for primary, and $100 for non-members.

Ballet Folklorico Workshop will be held June 11 through June 22 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 to 10 a.m. and 6 to 7 p.m.  Cost is $20 for Y members and $40 for non-members.  Learn basic dance steps as well as some of Mexico’s history, along with a little Spanish.  Contact Marisella Villanueva Lynch with any questions at 764-1898 or e-mail .  Please pay at the time of class.
