Purdue University Calumet Professor of Communication Yahya Kamalipour delivered the keynote address at the recent international Global Communication Association conference, held recently in the southern African nation of Zambia.

Kamalipour, also head of Purdue Calumet’s Department of Communication and Creative Arts, is founder and director of the Global Communication Association. At the conference, he discussed the history and accomplishments of the not-for-profit GCA, which connects international researchers and professionals who seek to advance information about practices, strategies and trends in global culture, media, politics and economics.

Another Purdue Calumet faculty member, Associate Professor of Political Science Richard Rupp, presented a paper titled, “Obama and Africa: Change and Continuity in American Foreign Policy” at the conference.

Kamalipour, a Munster resident, has served at Purdue Calumet since 1986.
