Portage eatery offering free lunches to veterans, active members

The Portage Texas Roadhouse invites veterans and active members of U.S. military to enjoy a free lunch on Sunday, Nov. 11. For the eighth year, every Texas Roadhouse location across the nation will participate in the free lunch event to honor the men and women of the armed forces.

All veterans, including all active, retired, and former U.S. military may choose one of 10 entrees from Texas Roadhouse’s special Veterans Day menu. This includes a 6-ounce sirloin and two made-from-scratch sides, plus a choice of any Coca-Cola product, sweet tea or iced tea, or coffee during lunch.

Qualifying participants need some proof of service, such as military or VA card or discharge papers.

This special offer runs Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The Portage restaurant is located at 6130 E. U.S. Hwy. 6.

According to Doug Giltrap, managing partner for the restaurant chain, “Texas Roadhouse appreciates the men and women of our armed forces. Each year, we honor their commitment to protecting our nation by hosting a free lunch for all active and retired military.”
