If you ever wanted to see people dive into cold water outdoors in the middle of winter, the Polar Plunge at Valparaiso University is made for you. The annual benefit for Special Olympics takes place Saturday, Feb. 15 outside VU’s Athletics Recreation Center (ARC).

Special Olympics Indiana’s signature fundraiser, the Polar Plunge is a series of exhilarating events held each winter through which individuals and teams brave the elements by taking an icy dip to demonstrate their commitment to the cause.

Registration runs that Saturday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., with the Plunge at noon. An After Splash Bash follows the benefit.

Not just for students, the Campus Plunge events offer fun for the whole family — with a little bit of rivalry mixed in. People of all ages can join in the fun at the 2020 #ValpoPlunge and help their favorite school compete for bragging rights and the annual traveling Campus Challenge trophy.

Register now at FirstGiving, and visit to learn more about what it means to take the Plunge.
