HOBART AREA

Deep River Waterpark offers activities and rides for the very young to senior adults. The water park, which draws from a multi-state area, is open Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, Sept. 7. VALPARAISO

Central Park Plaza, located at 70 Lafayette St. in downtown Valparaiso, hosts a splash pad. The plaza generally opens at 10:00 a.m., but closing times vary. PORTAGE

This community’s splash pad at Founder’s Square, 6300 Founders Square in Portage, operates 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. now through Labor Day, Sept. 7. For more details, visit www.inportageparks.com or call 219-762-1675.

CHESTERTON

Friendship Land Park has a playground, facilities for tennis, basketball, and baseball, and a summer splash pad. The park is located on 5th Street, between Morgan and Porter avenues. For more information, visit www.chestertonin.org or call 219-926-3000.
