About Us

Welcome to The Chronicle online.

We are excited about the growth of Northwest Indiana and extend an invitation for you to experience the benefits of living here.

The Chronicle is a family owned newspaper derived from over 25 years of newspaper publishing. We are dedicated to informing our readers with ‘good news’ happenings around Lake, Porter and LaPorte county communities. We feel that there is still “good news” out there and we all need a break from this headline or that TV announcer on the crime of the day. We feature human-interest stories in the surrounding communities, on local people, places and things and publish them every Wednesday in our community newspaper.

Unlike daily publications, The Chronicle is known to have a ‘coffee table’ life of 5 to 7 days in the home. The Chronicle has its own unique identity and takes great pride in it.

Our Porter County coverage area includes Valparaiso, Portage and Chesterton. The need for a weekly community publication has enabled us to expand into Lake County serving Hobart with great reception. Recently we have expanded into the Starke and LaPorte counties covering areas of Westville, Wanatah, North Judson and Knox to name just a few in our east zone.

Monthly you will find that along with general features; monthly sections are geared toward specific topics in “Health & Wellness” to “Senior Living”, with “Dining & Entertainment” and “Home & Garden”.

Along with our general features, and weekly sections, we feature weekly columns written by local residents. Some topics are “preventing identity theft” or “how to have the perfect resume,” written to help guide you with the basic do’s and don’ts.

So take a minute to review our website. Let us know your thoughts.

Our goal is to get you to know your community a little more, and happy reading!
